HTC HD2 is Out

HTC HD2There is great news for all the fans of the HTC HD2, the Touch HD2 on contract; Touch 2, Touch Diamond and Leo are some of the old names associated with the HTC HD2. Anyway, this powerful mobile phone is finally out. Windows Mobile 6.5 Profession will be the operating system for this Snapdragon 1GHz phone, though critics might want to hold their judgment until actually trying out the HTC Sense interface layered on top of Windows Mobile. The HTC Sense is basically an evolution of the HTC TouchFlo 3D and it makes navigating Windows a whole lot easier.

All About the Screen

If you have a 4.3 inch capacitive touch screen, start to wonder if the HD2 lacks multi touch capability? Most of you may already be familiar with the fact that Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional does not support multi touch functions, so all those pinch gestures will not register. At the same time, there are plenty of HTC apps that do support multi touch. It seems like it is WinMo itself that is the problem.

At 480 x 800 pixels, the resolution is more than just impressive, it is almost unparalleled with most devices out today. The brightness is outright impressive, far surpassing the clarity of the XPERIA X2 in most demonstrations (though this may be due to the native settings on the devices).

In Comparison

Being a Windows Mobile phone, the HD2 is compared to the XPERIA X2 a lot. The two share a common operating system, but HD2 takes the advantage by having a better proprietary interface.  Mostly, it is the 1 GHz Snapdragon processor places the gap between the two devices. The HD2, like other smart phones, is a 3G device that supports quad-band networks, has Bluetooth, GPS, microSD card slot and supports various media file types.

Android Users Have Something Extra To Cheer About

AndroidUsers of Android mobile phones designed by HTC can start jubilating as information reaching us shows that the company has just upgraded the HTC synchronization for the HTC Magic, HTC Hero and HTC Tattoo. This update will help increase connectivity with PC’s for users of HTC phones. There is a likelihood that this new software version arises to confirm that Android users can connect their mobile phones to a computer running Microsoft’s Windows Operating System.

There is an array of useful new features that the HTC Sync Version 2.0.8 brings to the table for owners of HTC magic, Hero or tattoo. HTC confirms that the update was released for owners of one of the three devices from the company and is geared at empowering them to enjoy an enhanced user experience.

Below are the release notes;

- This update for HTC Sync provides more connectivity between your HTC Phone and PC. Still providing synchronization between your Outlook and your HTC Phone, we’ve added in media enhancements, syncing your contacts pictures along with their contact information.

- Syncing now also syncs your HTC Phone’s time with your PC’s time and vice versa, providing the most accurate time for you, wherever, or whenever, you are.

- Sync your phone with ease. Just plug in your
HTC phone to your PC using a Mini (Or Micro) USB cable and watch as HTC Sync displays your model name and starts to sync your information for you.

This new software requires a PC with processor speed of 1Ghz or more, 512MBB of ram or Higher, Video Adaptor with a VGA of 800 x 600. Also 59MB of hard disk is required and a USB 2.0 port to attach the device.

HTC Tattoo Runs on Donuts

HTC TattooHTC is proud to announce their HTC Tattoo mobile phone. This 3G smart phone is powered by a Qualcomm 528 processor and runs the Google Android 1.6 Donut operating system. These are good specs for a basic 3G device that specializes in connectivity. By focusing greatly on created integrated applications for major social network applications on the internet, the Tattoo acts as you personal hub for Facebook updates, Tweets, Flickr uploads and more. Sure, there are also other devices that allow you to create a fully consolidated address book from your contacts lists, connect to social networking websites and keep and archive of messages; but how many of those mobile phones are actually running a version of Android?

The Operating System

The Android operating system is the reason why the Tattoo is such a good mobile phone. The operating system is able to fully maximize the processor and provide a stable operating platform for all applications allowing the phone to operate fast and smoothly. HTC is a veteran when it comes to making Android phones and it shows in the Tattoo. The best part of it all is that they have designed the Tattoo as a phone for everyone. Not exactly the cheapest device on the market, but it is reasonably priced and you are sure to find good Tattoo deals from local carriers once the phone launches.

Official Announcement

I like how the HTC official page advertises the consolidated address book and describes the entire experience as being dead easy. Well, it really is, but dead easy just does not sound right sometimes, and it some ways that does not sound easy at all. But as said, it is easy, with HTC’s shortcut buttons for both the Android and the integrated applications, all you need is an active account on social networking sites and you will be using the Tattoo regularly.

HTC Touch 2 Makes Windows Great

HTC Touch2HTC is a major manufacturer of electronics and mobile phones, they are based in Taiwan and often cater to both the Asian and European markets with the US getting last release dates. Their latest offering is the Touch 2, a Windows Mobile 6.5 Professional smart phone with amazing features and a reinvented HTC Sense interface that makes full use of the OS platform. The combination is strong and stable providing an enjoyable mobile experience. As you would expect from HTC, the hardware is a combination of wisely selected parts that are maximized to the fullest by the 3G smart phone. If you have had the pleasure of using an earlier HTC device, then the Sense interface would be a familiar sight to see.

HTC and Windows

HTC announced their Windows Mobile 6.5 phones early and have taken an early lead against their main competitor, the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X2; also a Windows Mobile phone. These two devices however do not exactly clash in terms of hardware as the X2 showcases higher end specifications as compared to the Touch 2. Instead, the Touch 2 provides a more sensible balance between the price and features allowing it to be sold at better prices.

The Features

As you would expect from a Windows Mobile phone, the standard WinMo apps are present. You get Pocket Office, Internet Explorer Mobile, Windows Media Player version 10 and plenty of other Windows applications. But if that is not enough for you and you want to add more applications, the new Windows Marketplace is the perfect addition. This is the WinMo app store which allows you to purchase and download new apps for the Touch 2. The HTC Touch 2 is currently available and it is all a matter of finding a great deal for this amazing mobile smart phone.
